I'm Asian and I have black/very dark brown hair. I've never dyed my hair before, but recently I've grown bored w/ my hair so I was thinking of getting highlights. What colors would be good? I'd prefer not to get the boring reddish-brown that all Asians seem to have when they get highlights. Do you have any original ideas for highlight colors? Preferably nothing TOO unique either, like green, blue, etc. haha.

She put some ashy gold blonde strands as subtle highlights around the face, and then put some chocolate and caramel lowlights. I have had nothing but compliments since I got them.

Usually asians or people with darker hair get redish brown Highlights because it compliments their skin tone best. You can get a carmelized color ( alot like J-lo highlights) Which compliments skin for asians as well as Puertoricans like J-lo. If you want something completely different. Try doing it even blonder. Most hairstylists will probably tell you what I'm telling you. so I wish you luck

I would only color 2 inches of your hairline all around in rich chocolate color. Not highlight but color all the way only 2 or 3 inches. When your hair are down it looks great on Oriental hair and frames the face beautifully!

dont get highlights. after they fade away, your hair will be all damaged and un-shiny. if you have to, light-medium brown. DO NOT GET BLONDE!!!!!
