Laser hair removal on asian skin?

I've had laser hair removal and can recommend it as a permanent method of removal of unwanted hair (my hair follicles were causing problems as hairs were ingrowing causing abcesses to form and a condition known as Pilo Nidal Sinus. However I am white/fair skinned and my consultant dermatologist has said that those with darker skins do not find laser treatment as successful. Make sure you get some sound advice from a reputable clinic - if it is for medical reasons you may find such advice is available on the NHS.

Laser treatment on Asian and dark skinned people is not very effective. There should be no side effects with laser treatment but please consult a professional (get recomendations from people if possible). Don't just assume that you are being told the truth by these people.

It is listed in health mags and on the internet and indeed in the press that laser treatment is not recommended fro dark skinned people. Of course there are always exceptions but as a rule light skinned to medium skin are most accepting of laser treatment
