Black asian hair with burgundy highlights?

I'm donating my very thick, straight hair in a few weeks, and i'm getting it layered with really long sideswept bangs, like this,

i want to get it highlighted, but i don't want the typical asian blood red highlights, or caramel brown, so i was thinking burgundy. which straddles the border between red and purple. like this

i think it's subtle, and unique, but what do you think? good color blend with black?

I think that would be absolutely gorgeous with black, especially out in the sun. :] Are your highlights going to be the same thickness or varied? Because I think varied thickness would be very lovely. Maybe have the streaks a little thicker near your face. %26lt;3
