I say yes

I have seen it before on a friend of mine. She is also 1/4 Japanese

Looks great, probably better on her than anyone else that I have seen with highlights.

if you want to do it, then do it. maybe you and your grandma can compromise?

It depends on the rest of your heritage and how it corresponds your appearance.

If you have traditional Asian looks, I think highlights would detract from your real beauty. Kind of like a white kid wearing dreads.

Find the beauty treatments that emphasize and flatter your own features and beauty and not what is "popular" in the marketplace.

Your own true beauty is always the centerpiece. Value it and develop it. You will be rewarded many times over.

Do it but go for red highlights. Blonde just goes ugly orange on asian and indian hair.

You should do it, Im indian and my grandma was like ehhh. she thought the water in america was bad!! LOL. but hey shes like 80 and she doesn't know whats "in" right now. But if you get a natural color Im pretty sure your grandma wont mind.
