How do I curl asian hair without using chemicals straightners or going to a professional?

I have really straight hair and when I try to curl it it uncurls in about 5 min since my hair is really thick. I've tried the mousse and blow dry upside down thing too. Nothing works.

My Grandmother always told me that eating raw carrots would make my hair curl.

The cuticle on Asian hair is about eleven layers thick. Caucasian hair only has about seven layers. If you want the heat to penetrate all those layers of cuticle, you have to keep your iron on high and hold it in for a long time. Also, spritz each section of hair with some hair spray before you curl it. It might hold better.

You have hair that doesn't like curling. Mine was like that too, but I just got it permed last week. It's not as damaging as I thought it was and even if you want it straight again you can just blowdry it straight.

You can try this too, it always worked in my hair...Take 1-2 inch sections of your hair when it's damp and gently twist up to your scalp. Pin in place with two bobbie pins placed crosswise, like an x, with eachother. Spray with some extra hold hair spray and let them dry overnight. In the morning take each one out and seperate with a pick, then spray again, lightly, with hair spray. Or you can scrunch some gel into it. It's a bit of a crunch look depending how much product you put in. Also the tighter you do them the more crimped they'll be, so if you just want waves do them looser or add more hair in the twists.

Try putting a good styling gel in it while it is wet and then scrunch it with your hands while blowdrying it. There are volumizing sprays to add some body too.

Do not get a perm it will reck your gorgeous hair.

Rough dry your hair put a spray gel in it. Get some big rollers and put them in put the hair dryer on them for a while. If you do it a few hours before you want to go out just walk around the house in them. Keep putting the dryer on them make sure they are dry and take out rollers. Then spray with a good hold hair spray.
