Are there any updo's for thick straight asian hair?

My hair is extremely thick, straight, and shiny and dosn't do regular updo's well. Does anyone know some good ones for my type of hair? Its fairly long, but falls out of buns and stuff easily because its really thick.

MY hair is also EXTREMELY thick.Jus cause we got thick hair doesn't mean we can't do updo's. You can use hair spray and products like that. Somtimes you can do "The Poof" or some people call it a speed bump You can get your hair thinned though i dont reccomend if you have thick hair like me consider yourself lucky...but hey dont knock it till you try it.

Try pin curls into a bun. It's held in place by bobby pins and you can even get some spiral curls hanging out. I know this because I'm african american and my hair is really curly and thick too!! =]

first thing make sure your hair is a bit soiled fresh hair will not stay up......twist and pin or curl (hot rollers or curling iron...half up half down...all up in a high pony tail and pin random hairs make into curls or go straight or curl the ends with the iron...use spray before you curl...good luck

Thick hair is actually easier to get up into an updo than thin hair. As far as straight hair...again, no problem. A hairdresser will just use more hair products to make it "less silky" to stay in the updo longer. You can actually pick ANY updo and it will be ok.

FOR ANY TYPES OF HAIR I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU DON'T WASH IT AT LEAST 1 DAY BEFORE YOUR GETTING IT DONE. I KNOW IT SOUNDS CRAZY BUT, YOU HAIR WILL HOLD SO MUCH BETTER IF IT'S DIRTY. ALSO, TRY ( FREEZE IT ) HAIRSPRAY. IT'S THE BEST THING THAT EVER CAME OUT. WHEN I DO GIRLS HAIR FOR PROMS AND THING I'LL ALWAYS TELL THEM TO PICK SOME UP. IT WORK'S GREAT!!!
