What hairstyles do you recommend for straight, long Asian hair?

I want to get a new haircut, and right now I have side-swept bangs and layered edges. It is pretty long, and I'd like to keep the length. I have a round face, and my hair is very very straight and thin. What hairstyles do you recommend?

Pictures would be helpful.

you have a lovely cut now... you may add some bangs to the front... try different hair styles once in a while or try using rollers to curl up the bottoms... it looks lovely and different once in a while... braid it.. or tie it in different styles.. just for your own difference and satisfaction.. otherwise i think you should leave the layers.. 'coz it looks lovely for straight and long hairs

try to braid it. any type of hair looks good braided. mine is thick and it looks good in a braid.

you could get framing around your face and just get some soft layers

haha your one of the lucky ones. im chinese and for some reason i have wavy hair like heck.maybe you should try going a little shorter. if you do, you could do a lot more. like if it was short and playful

Face framing layers are great for a round face because it minimizes the appearance of the roundness. It creates a more oval appearence which is the perfect shape.

Best shampoo and conditioner for dry, brittle, thin, asian hair?

I let my hair air dry and do not use any products in it, besides shampoo and conditioner, no styling products at all, how often should I wash it, some say every other day, etc...

You should wash it every day.

Mane and Tail is ok, but I like Suave Humectant.

Baby shampoos are your secret weapon. They閳ユ獧e gentle enough to wash your hair, but they also break down all the residue that閳ユ獨 piled onto your hair. Use large Velcro rollers to roll hair when it閳ユ獨 95 percent dry. Blowdry the rollers for 5 minutes and then spritz a salt spray to your roots to add extra body.

Try going to an African American or a Dominican hair salon. They can do everything to any type of hair.

What kind of haircut should I get? I have asian hair...?

I have really long, straight, black hair. My forehead is like a medium size, not too big. I have a short neck and light tan skin. What kind of haircut should I get -- long or medium? I don't want to get a short haircut. BTW, I have a round face. Would side-swept bangs look good on me, like Nicole Ritchie's? I might get my hair layered and angled in the front. But I don't know if bangs would look good on me, but I do want them. What do you think?

What kind of haircut should I get? I have asian hair...?

Side swept bangs would look good if they are long. Try to get a cut that will add volume to the top, therefore visually lengthening your face. Since your face is round, don't add too much volume to the sides. :)

OMG I have the same hair!! Isnt that amazing?! Well yah I am getting side swep

its sweet! Report It

What kind of haircut should I get? I have asian hair...?

bangs look good on anyone. i had long thick hair, probably past my butt, i chopped it all off shoulder length, with choppy layers. try to avoid layering around the face but textured layers all around.

What kind of haircut should I get? I have asian hair...?

I would get dramatic layers.

It'll make your hair easier to tame.

Definitely do the side-swept bangs, it adds length to round faces.

Where in London I can get a decent perm for Asian hair?

I dont want the 80s wet poodle look (gross!) but I hear there is a new method to provide loose, soft waves.

Being chinese, I have very stubborn straight hair - it takes ages to curl it (i use the new "youcurl" by Babyliss) but I like having the extra body when I do. I saw this Japanese popstar who has the most beautiful hair:

will a perm give these results? Has anyone with similar hair to me had a good (or bad) perm and where?

Perms are for tight curls only and hardly ever turn out anything different, even with large roller barrels, I've known being going in for a so called "loose perm" and have come out looking like they have an afro

Will Palty work on natural brown, non-asian hair?

I bought 2 Palty 'Chokoto Colour' 5 minute colouring packets from Japan, one is brown and the other black. It appears to say the colour is a wrapping and stays in for 1 week. If anyone uses Palty, do you know if the brown colouring one would contain bleach, and whether it would make already dark-brown hair blondish?
