Why don't Black and Asian men have much hair?

While Arabs and Meditteraneans are so hairy?

How come? I mean, Arabs and Meditteraneans come from warm areas. Why do they need all this hair for, evolution-wise?

But on the other hand, Northern Europeans live in very cold climates, yet they aren't much hairy.

Blacks have hairs, but very curly, so it can't be seen clearly.

Hair help to retain water from evaporating our body, so peoples living in desert should get a pretty good pilosity.

Also Africans (negroids), have very curly hairs has to increase bodily water retention, thus optimixing their body for long period of time without drinking anything.

Just to try, travel to the Sahara, and lets see how many liters of water you will need to drink, then compare it with those natives... You may drink 5 liters when they may not even drink a drop the whole day...

As for the Asian, I can only say that their population is so old, that my guess should be that the genetic materials of those asian is less diversified than ours, thus increasing the evolution pressure to lower pilosity. Also Asian don't smell when they sweat, and some can shave once every two weeks, even at the age of over 50y-o... Which is odd... My mother used to have more beard than most of them!!!

LOL, well I'm both, Half black, and half Asian. Like the first poster said, it is true about the african race. But I wouldn't say im hairy myself, i did have an afro, but after it got past its curly stage, it became straight. ( I know, lol WTF ) But where the race resided a long time ago, had influence on the hair, since we didn't need fur anymore.

They all have the same number, roughly, of hairs. Their hairs are much finer assuming you are talking about body hair (i.e chest and back hair on men). We all have the same number of hairs as chimps. I think it is probably sexual selection more than anything. Our lack of hair, or rather having our hair turn fine, may have resulted from wearing clothes. I am Irish and like Chuck Norris, have more hair than most Arabs and Mediterraneans.
