you need to get it thinned.

When you get your hair cut, just ask the person to thin it out all over. She will take these strange scissor-type things and just take out the volume w/o the length. It's really very cool. And it doesn't show as it grows back - you just have to get it thinned out every 6 months or so when you get a trim.

I hope I helped!

Japanese hair saloons are really good lol. They are consider the best hair saloon in the world. In fact, they will even test your hair first before applying any medicine to have the best result. They will also ask how you want your hair be done lol. Advise will be given to you also and other options for you to choose. Why not come to the nearest saloon there and ask them what to do with your hair. Are you really a Japanese???!!! Never heard of a Japanese that cannot afford to go to the saloon.

frizz ease has a lot of water in it, so you're not really helping with that. but you're on the right path to look for a silicone product because silicones protect the hair from heat by coating the hair shaft completely. plus they help tame the hair. try simply stylin' silk which is pure silicone without the fillers of other silicones. it prevents frizz, adds a really great shine, makes the hair soft, and protects it from heat and humidity. kind of hard to find in stores, but you can google their website. good luck!
