Any way to get wavy or curly asian hair?

i have coarse asian hair. you know, the kind that's just straight and the most common styles are bowl cuts and spikes. i've recently seen a person who has hair like mine but managed to get it more like this:

I didn't really want to ask him how, because questions like this are pretty lame. Is there any way to do this without going down to a salon?

Any way to get wavy or curly asian hair?

The link didn't work but, I think you'd have to get a perm. That involves chemicals and some type of perm rods. I wouldn't recommend doing this at home because you can't be sure of the results and you could end up with some sections that are straight and some that are curly which would look a hot mess!

Find a trained professional who has worked with your hair texture and show them a picture of what you want your hair to look like.

Be prepared to become a hair product junkie. Because once you alter your hair with chemicals you always end up having to use a conditioning or styling product to replace or repair something the chemical changed in your natural hair texture.

Unlike many Asians I know, I have thick, wavy, coarse Asian hair. Whenever i get my hair done at salons, hairstylists always ask me if i condition my hair (which i do religiously). It's frustrating because i've always wanted stick straight hair that kind of "swings". Be happy with your hair. You don't want coarse hair. I was born with curly/wavy locks and i don't look good with straight hair after all. Use an iron or something to get wavy hair. but DON'T get a perm; it'll damage your hair. trust me.

What kind of makeup will look good with pale asian skin, black hair and eyes?

Im not really a fan of heavy makeup either, and the fact that im not really good with it...=)

eyelash extensions, lots of mascara and eyeliner.

What kind of makeup will look good with pale asian skin, black hair and eyes?

I'm Korean. My eyes tend to look small because I don't have what they call double-eyelids, so I lightly line my eyes with white powder. I got that tip from a magazine, lol and it really does look good. And then I use bare minerals on those little problem areas where a pimple might pop out of nowhere one day. and I finish with mouth-freshening gloss [not too much, just a drop ^^]

I also have dark features and pale skin...I find that greys and plums look great for the eyes. You can really wear any shade of gloss, I like plums and pinks for the lips as well...If your not a fan of loads of makeup just make sure to use a liner, mascara, a little color on the cheeks and youre set.

Teen boy Asian hair/color?

So Im 100% asian but I sadly dont look like it and I dont know if I can pull of an asian color and haircut I've tried crew cuts but dont care for them and looking for change on color any help. Please show me pic to so I can get an idea.

Jun Matsumoto is a hot fashion icon for Japanese guys--although they tend to look androgynous, that's alright.

Teen boy Asian hair/color?

I'm Asian myself and never dyed my hair, always keep it short (number 1 on the sides, short on top, and a bit longer on the front), dark and sleek. Over all, I'm pretty happy with what my parents gave me.

On another note, I thought Asian only had one true hair color, which is black, what do you mean by "Asian color?"

Teen boy Asian hair/color?

Are you sure you're not adopted? hahaha. well hmm...make your hair black??idk...or go look at search up pictures of famous asian actors or look at the hairstyles of some korean boy band, they always have different hair styles and colors.

I want to get a body wave perm on my stright asian hair will it damage it forever?

My hair is pretty healthy no dying, no chemcials my stylist suggested do a semi body wave perm underneath the first layer of hair to bring some body to my stright fine asian hair, currently I blow dry and use two volumzing products and still does not have much body but I heard a perm can change your hair texture forever is that true?

I want to get a body wave perm on my stright asian hair will it damage it forever?

I have straight and thin Asian hair too, and so does my mom. She got a body perm a few months ago and now that it's grown out it's still coarse. I don't know if it is just her or if it's for everyone...but if your stylist says it would be good and you want to, then go for it! It will grow out eventually.

I want to get a body wave perm on my stright asian hair will it damage it forever?

Well, hair grows out, so nothing is forever. Probably your stylist knows best, so think about if the advantages will out weigh the disadvantages.

I want to get a body wave perm on my stright asian hair will it damage it forever?

It won't change it forever.. It will be that way until your perm grows out.

I want to get a body wave perm on my stright asian hair will it damage it forever?

Blow Drying Damages your hair.

Things to alter your hair Damage your hair.

Hair grows so it technically won't be damaged forever.

But, also,.. hair grows so how would a one time treatment change it forever ( with the excepts of burns or baldness).

The truth is, anyone that says they can change your hair forever is yanking your chain. I know claims that doing something to your hair would change it forever [have been around] since atleast before WW2 because I have had Elderly tell me about times people got them to ruin their hair or shave their head [with similar tunes].

You may want to shop around trying Volumizing products until one makes you happy and in combonation with Moisturizers to help combat any dryness or damage (how ever minor it may be).

I know the good old fashion approach to adding volumn and fullness is to flip your hair forward and start with the hair closest to the neck and farthest back then work your brushing forward. I cannot say if this is the best method, just tell you it's an old one that has worked well for a couple people.

I want to get a body wave perm on my stright asian hair will it damage it forever?

my friend permanently striaghtened her hair,

its still really bad after 3 years. But i think thats because she always straightenes it

i think you should think about getting it permed, because it will damage your hair until it grows out

but seriously, are you that willing to spend so much money on something that will not last for long, and dat will damage your hair?

i think you should just buy a curler, or a straightener that curls/volumises your hair too, just for special occassions

What are some styles I can do for thick asian hair?

I always wear my hair in a half ponytail because it's so thick. I've tried putting a hairband on, but from the side, my hair is so thick it looks like it's a wig. I just want a hairstyle that's not a ponytail. If you can, please recommend a cut for thick asian hair. I know there's layers, but I don't really want to shorten my hair. I've heard thinning is pretty bad. Please answer!

What are some styles I can do for thick asian hair?

Yes Thinning is bad..no one wants to have "thinning" hair. But if you go to a good salon they can texturize your hair so it lays more consistent and has style. Layers are sort of nice because they give movement to the hair and if done correctly it does not take Length of your perimeter of your hair. Also adding some Carmel highlights ( NO BLONDS FOR ASIAN) will give your hair a different look. I am also Asian with THICK Horse hair, so I know what you are going through. You can't walk into a salon saying you want change but no layers and no "thinning"...all they can do then is make it shorter. So try something new...be daring, and go somewhere good to have it done. I like Carmel highlights in my hair, because when I do want to pull it up, it gives it a different look. Good luck

What are some styles I can do for thick asian hair?

i know what you mean, i have the same problem. i have grown my hair out and it is much easier to choose hairstyles for it. or you could cut your hair (very) short and have thick layers. i also like to braid my hair and it looks very pretty and natural. my mom has short(er) hair and since it is very thick it looks very good and has lots of volume.

What are some styles I can do for thick asian hair?

I love asian hair it is sooo beautiful and silky, just wear it down or cut some bangs

What are some styles I can do for thick asian hair?

i am asian and i really like long black hair. grow it long. wear it as ponytail, braid it, and wear it as a bun. there are many hair accessories now available to us.

What are some styles I can do for thick asian hair?

Asian women have nice hair, don't do a thing to it, you would prob regret it later on..unless you are 100% sure i wouldn't

What are some styles I can do for thick asian hair?

why don't you just try going to a hair salon and ask a hair stylist there to hook up a style for you!Good luck~

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

A lot of my Black girlfriends don't like their hair..the upkeep it takes to keep it straight, the fact that they can't wash it whenever they want or as easily as White or Asian girls can, the fact that they have to spend forever at the hair salon, that their hair is so dang greasy, etc. Do most Black girls wish their hair was easier to take care of?

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

I am white. I do feel that black women like all women wish something was different about their own personal body. Heck I would like to have some color in my pale skin!!!

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

well i'm mixed but my hair is more black then white spanish and asian. sometimes i wish my hair was easier to take care but i still love my hair the way it is.

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

I just wish i had hair. Im bald. Shaved ball head. I love my bald head im not ashamed.LOL!!

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

well well i have black friends who taught like this but after when i gave them indian hair tips and it worked for them they stop thinking like this. my black friends used to always tell me oh you are so lucky to have indian hair i told them my hair is just like anyone else and it only grows because of hair products i used. they always taught indians hair were more manegable however i gave them a bigger picture on what we indian girls do to our hair when we are younger. i think your black freinds have a white man mentality and need to stop being insecure because in life their is more important things then just hair. one black friend (i always mention her in here) she doesnt spend hrs on her hair she used henna treatments and cocount oil and whats the result long kinky hair she has now. black women who think like this should learn to love themselves and stop being obsess with other race hair believe me im indian and having lonk silky hair wasnt easy it took me years to grow long hair

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

They love their hair. The media doesn't like their hair...

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

WELL I CAN'T SPEAK FOR EVERYONE!... BUT I LOVE MY HAIR... I LOVE HOW I CAN HAVE IT STRAIGHT..., CURLY, WAVY, I CAN BRAID IT WITHOUT IT COMING OUT!... I LOVE HOW I CAN DO SO MANY THINGS THAT OTHER PEOPLE CAN'T!.... SO NO!

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

your black friends are idiots. they need to realize that hair is just hair and this is the way they were born and their is nothing they can do about it. i see white girls and asian girls in my school complaining about their hair. sometimes they wish they can style their hair alot like black women. tell your black friends to grow up and stop judging asians and white people hair. im black and my hair sees manageable.

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

I can't answer for all Black women, only for myself.

a: the upkeep it takes to keep it straight

a: why would you want super straight hair? Then it would be lank with no body.

b: the fact that they can't wash it whenever they want or as easily as White or Asian girls can.

b: I don't know the type of people you've been conversing with but why wouldn't they be able to wash their hair whenever they'd like?

c: that they have to spend forever at the hair salon

c: I spend approx one hour in the salon. That's not forever.

d. that their hair is so dang greasy, etc.

d. They may use unnecessary products in their hair, like grease or oil. Your hair has natural oils, additional oil is not necessary.

I love my hair, whether I wear it straight or if I wash it and leave it curly.

I think a lot of Black women have a love/hate relationship with their hair. Once a lot of them realize hair does not define them, they'll be a lot better off.

And to the person who posed the question, I understand you are curious but my question is why? Why do you care either way? Hair is hair. Whether you be black, white, brown, yellow, whatever.

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

I never wished I was a different race, and I never found it to be a hassle with the up keep of my hair. My hair is easy to take care of. I've been doing it myself for so long, shampoo%26amp; condition, wet set, roll it up every night. Or press and curl and roll it up every night. Sounds like some sistas are just lazy and need to start taking care of their hair better than what their doing, and they won't complain.

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

No, I must say that most of the black women that I know would not like White or Asian hair. It can be washed whenever they feel and the only reason why their hair is dang greasy as you is probably because they add grease to it. Sounds like they don't take very good care of their hair.

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

I'm black and I have the capabilities of wearing my hair Poker straight, wavy, curly and kinky. Anybody can do this regardless of what your race is! I can wash my hair 3times a day, once a day, once a week, or further in between if I like. (Yes I'm all Black. In case someone is wondering)As far as your friends hair being greasy, they are using too much of the right stuff, or not the right stuff!!

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

We're told not to wash it every day, because we do not produce the natural oils that other people produce. Our hair and skin can be very dry. Our hair requires extra moisture to keep it manageable. It sometimes, takes longer than an hour at the salon, because our hair is so thick and course, that it takes extra time to MANAGE and get that stuff under control.

No, we don't want white or asian hair, we just want manageable, long, healthy easy-to-do hair.

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

I speak on behalf of myself growing up was hard because my hair would always be nappy (im half jamaican and black) so I used 2 wish my hair was always stait and easy to keep up, but now I am happy and content with my hair.

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

I like your question. I'll be very honest with you. When I was younger, yes I did. But I don't think it was I wish I had "white or asian" hair, it was just wanting straight, bouncy hair. I like to think of it more along the lines as someone with curly hair wanting straight hair or visa-versa, not necessarily a race issue.

Now that I'm older and wiser (haha); I love my own hair. I like it best in braids and I'm no longer envious or wishing for something else. I don't have to spend forever in the salon, I do my haircare at home (except cuts) and my hair is not greasy. Just things you learn as you get older.

I think we all go thru something like that at one time or another. The key is to work with what you got!

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

lol not really for me. Its doesn't matter what race we all have hair problems some Asians may complain that even though there hair is straight it may be frizzy also or 2 limp .White girls also may have the same problem it can be frizzy wavy curly or whatever so for me I don't want or wish I had Asian hair but I do wish my hair was longer like before I had it cut because I messed my hair up with dyes and stuff.I'm learning how to take care of my hair so the salon thing I don't do unless its a major event coming up.And I kinda like not worrying about my hair when it rains lol :p

P.S. It also depends on the type of girl you may asked. We all want healthy hair I would think no matter the race.

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

Well, I cant keep for every black female, but I love my hair. Some black females don't realize that we have the best hair. Caucasion hair is long but its thin because they dont have all 3 parts of the hair follicle. Some black females have a hard time maintain their hair but we have the best hair

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

unfortunenately most wish they had straight hair, that's why they straighten it and stay away from water so it wont 'go back' as they say, which is a darned shame because if they only left it alone and wore it the way God intended they could swim and not live their lives around their hair.

I stopped straightening my hair a few months ago, and i've never experienced such freedom. Afro hair is awesome, and if AA women would realize that, they wouldn't stress so much about straight hair.

Do Black women wish they had White or Asian hair?

As a black woman, I love my hair. It is easier to manage. I can wear any style I want. I have the option to get a perm or go natural. Even if I go natural and style it,%26amp; my hair will still look good and in style. I grease my scalp to keep my hair healthy, but not too greasy. You see, if you know anything about grease they have all types of grease for black hair (light grease to heavy grease). We can even put a weave in and majority of the time, one can't tell whether it belongs to us or not. We can even rock dreadlocks and depending how she maintains it, the locs will look good. We can get an updo that would last for more than a week. So you see, we as black girls and black women have many many options. If we had hair like non black folk (no offense), our ways of styling would be limited. Click link below to see how "we do" as black girls and black women.

What hairstyles do you recommend for straight, long Asian hair?

I want to get a new haircut, and right now I have side-swept bangs and layered edges. It is pretty long, and I'd like to keep the length. I have a round face, and my hair is very very straight and thin. What hairstyles do you recommend?

Pictures would be helpful.

What hairstyles do you recommend for straight, long Asian hair?

you have a lovely cut now... you may add some bangs to the front... try different hair styles once in a while or try using rollers to curl up the bottoms... it looks lovely and different once in a while... braid it.. or tie it in different styles.. just for your own difference and satisfaction.. otherwise i think you should leave the layers.. 'coz it looks lovely for straight and long hairs

What hairstyles do you recommend for straight, long Asian hair?

try to braid it. any type of hair looks good braided. mine is thick and it looks good in a braid.

What hairstyles do you recommend for straight, long Asian hair?

you could get framing around your face and just get some soft layers

What hairstyles do you recommend for straight, long Asian hair?

haha your one of the lucky ones. im chinese and for some reason i have wavy hair like heck.maybe you should try going a little shorter. if you do, you could do a lot more. like if it was short and playful

What hairstyles do you recommend for straight, long Asian hair?

Face framing layers are great for a round face because it minimizes the appearance of the roundness. It creates a more oval appearence which is the perfect shape.
