There was a topic on Tyra's show today featuring this subject matter. The panel included a black woman, latina, asian woman %26amp; white woman. The show concluded (according to the panel %26amp; most of the audience) that very light skin %26amp; what's considered "caucasian" features are not only preferred but those on the opposite end of the spectrum are actually rediculed in some instances. Of course this means "generally" speaking. Who agrees or disagrees? Some people are really effected by these standards %26amp; suffer because of it. I have brown skin, full lips but a more "caucasian" nose. Growing up during the summer I would become really dark, %26amp; remember being rediculed for that. Even for having full lips. However the feature I recieve the most complements for was for having a "good" nose (lol) whatever that means. I always like "darker" complexion girls but many felt like 2 dark "skinned" people shouldn't be together. They would say "What if we had a baby, how dark would it come out". Any others?
Is Skin Tone A Issue In Latino Culture? What About Asian? Facial features, hair texture etc.? Body type?
In most places where people of color reside there is a preference for lighter skin; this came about after European colonization

Some dark skinned people want their skin to be lighter. But most prefer the more moderate color. Moderate is my description for the tan/brown shade. I personally prefer the tan/brown shade.
